We have several positions available, based in Charlwood, near Reigate, Surrey in a low
*medium mental health secure hospital.
You will have fulltraining and be fully supported.
The posts are on a 37.5 hours per week basis, consisting of 3 x 12.5 hour shifts both day and night, over the week.
In addition to this, successful applicants will be able to do overtime that will increase earnings.
The hospital looks after patients with mental health, personality disorders and mild learning disabilities.
Duties will include assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the well being, dignity and treatment of all patients, providing practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
Observing and monitoring the well being of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.
Developing and maintaining a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors.
The nature of the role necessitates frequent interaction with staff, patients and visitors on the wardinvolving the regular exchange of routine information in person and over the telephone.
Welldeveloped observational and listening skills are essential for monitoring the mental, emotional andphysical well being of patients.
The problems faced by patients may present difficult and challenging situations, which may heighten the physical, sensory and emotional demands of the role.
Healthcare assistants will receive full support from ward managers.
